Homemade Peanut Butter Cups

Hi Friends,

Today we shall visit the “cake” portion of “chasingcake”. We aren’t making cake just yet, but pretty much the next best thing.

Peanut Butter Cups.

The best part? Two ingredients. Yup! Just two! If we are going down the cake road, you better believe we are going to make the best of it by keeping it clean.

-Peanut Butter or Almond Butter*
-Dark Chocolate**

*Be sure to check out the ingredients in your Peanut Butter or Almond Butter! Lots of brands are filled with hydrogenated oils, corn syrups, soy proteins etc. Avoid them! Freshly ground is the most delicious in my opinion.
**Check your labels here. Avoid chocolate with soy lecithin-an emulsifier. Theo is my ultimate favorite. Your ingredients should look a little something like this- Cocoa Beans, Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Vanilla Bean.

Follow these steps:
-Melt the chocolate. You can do this by placing your chocolate in a glass bowl over a boiling pot of water. Stir frequently. Do not leave your chocolate until you are done melting it and it is off the stove or else you will end up with burnt chocolate and a sad sad heart. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
-Line your miniature cupcake pan with cupcake holders. I skipped this step because I didn’t have any liners and I know nothing sticks to this magical pan.
-Fill each cupcake liner ¼ of the way full with melted chocolate.
-Place a drop of peanut butter or almond butter on top of the melted chocolate.
-Cover the peanut butter/almond butter with more melted chocolate.
-Place in freezer for 10 minutes.
-Quickly eat one and hide the rest before anyone else finds them. Teehee!

But really, these taste MUCH better when you enjoy them with family and friends. Always remember that treats are just that. A treat. Indulge in these little pieces of deliciousness and savor every bite!

  1. How cute are you?? Anahid I’m so proud of you for doing this!!

These look amazing and I will be making this soon but tell me, what is that magical pan of yours??

    • Thank you so much Lynett!!

The pan is the Wilton 24 Cup Mini Muffin Pan from Target. Even if the peanut butter cups stick a little bit when you take them out of the freezer, you can wait a few minutes for them to thaw out and they will come right out (or flip the pan upside down and tap a spoon on the pan). They do look cuter with the liners though 🙂

Let me know how they turn out!
